Rachel’s Story: How Kruzee Helped Her Pass After 5 Failed Tests

Learning to drive is one of life’s most exciting milestones, but not everyone’s path to getting their driver’s licence is linear. Some students need more practice, more time to build confidence, or simply a better instructor to help them get there.

We caught up with Rachel, a Toronto-based Kruzee student who failed her road test five times before finding Kruzee – and passed on her sixth try after a few weeks of lessons with Monique.

Before Rachel Found Kruzee

By the time Rachel found Kruzee, getting her driver’s licence had shifted from an exciting milestone to a long, discouraging process. She’d tried out multiple driving schools across Toronto, but the pattern was always the same: cookie-cutter lessons that didn’t address her weak spots followed by a failed road test.

After her fifth failed attempt, Rachel hit a breaking point. She was emotionally drained and “ultimately giving up,” beginning to wonder if she’d ever get her licence. Then, she found Kruzee.

What Changed With Kruzee

Rachel was paired with Monique, one of Kruzee’s top-rated instructors. Hearing Rachel talk about Monique, it’s clear this wasn’t just one more driving school experience. She called Monique the “absolute best instructor”, and the way she describes their lessons together explains why.

“Every lesson she’d [Monique] pick me up and spend two detailed hours with me”. These weren’t rushed, generic run-throughs of the road test. Monique targeted exactly what Rachel needed to work on – building real confidence behind the wheel. Instead of cramming for the test, Monique had Rachel practice the fundamentals (such as navigating busy intersections and changing lanes in traffic) in real-world driving scenarios she’d actually be faced with.

Rachel was never a lost cause. She just needed high-quality instruction built around her specific needs.

The Sixth Time Was the Charm

After working with Monique for a few weeks, Rachel retook her road test for the sixth time and “passed with flying colours”. She even began crying tears of joy the moment she got her result. All of the stress and self-doubt she’d carried through her previous attempts instantly melted away – it was the ultimate validation that she had always been capable of becoming a safe, confident driver.

Since passing, Rachel has embraced a whole new sense of freedom. She’s been driving all over Toronto – picking her sister up from school, going to visit friends, and going to the grocery store. She’s happy to no longer be reliant on rides from other or limited by transit schedules.

In fact, Rachel has now encouraged her sister to sign up with Kruzee to, emphasizing that her experience “was absolutely incredible”.

Final Thoughts

Rachel’s story is proof that failing your road test more than once isn’t reflective of your capabilities. Every student learns differently, and finding an instructor who adapts to your needs can make all the difference.

Struggling to get your licence? You’re not a lost cause, you just need the right instructor. Find a top-rated instructor near you and get started today.
